Setting up 2-factor Authentication on your iOS Device

What is 2-factor Authentication?

Two-factor Authentication (2FA) provides an additional layer of security to PIX by requiring another step of verification when logging in.

When 2FA is enabled for an account, a username, password, and a user-specific authentication code must be entered in order to log in to your PIX account.

What do I need to set up 2FA on iOS?

If you are using an iOS device (iPhone or iPad) and don’t have access to a computer,  you will need to:
  1. Download the PIX for iOS application from the App Store. If you are manually searching, search  for PIX SYSTEM
  2. Download a third-party application to your mobile device which you will link to your PIX account.  Google Authenticator is a commonly used and PIX recommended 2FA app. Google Authenticator can also be found in the App Store.

Invalid 2FA Token?

If you see an Invalid 2FA token message, make sure that you are entering the newest code generated for PIX, and not an expired code.

The code generated by the authentication app is only valid for 30 seconds, so be sure you are copying and pasting the code within that time frame.

IMPORTANT!!  - Your device containing your 2FA authentication app and your device you are using to access PIX must be displaying the same time and have the same timezone settings in order for the correct code to be displayed.
